Flowing from the trustee debacle and following the 2020 election, the membership of the 362 continues to be starved for information regarding its day-to-day, monthly and now yearly operations.
Covid-19 appears to be a godsend for the leadership executive to hide behind and continue to be evasive and non-transparent in their activities, which is the opposite of the platform that they were elected on, leaving the membership in the dark on how its monies are being spent. This lack of information is not what the hard-working membership of the 362 deserves. This is the union of the hard-working membership; not the Union of the hired help and their own agendas.
The extension of the secrecy now continues into the purchase of a new building in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Who authorized the purchase? Because the fact
that there were no meetings at the time because of the pandemic, it couldn't have been the membership.
This kind of secrecy and non-transparency has continued as general meetings were not permitted. The leadership executive chooses to just sit back and rub their tummies and keep the membership in the dark on this recent purchase; leaving us to wonder about other things, such as our grievances, our representation and, for some strange reason, the speediness of contract negotiations.
We are attempting to keep the membership informed and the union environment while trying to act as a watchdog over the current leadership in their evasive and non-transparent practices.
